Cottrell goes six strong for Bucks

Making his Waterloo Bucks debut Friday night, Ben Cottrell threw six solid innings, allowing three hits, three walks and three runs (two earned) with two strike outs.

Cottrell got a no decision in the Bucks' 4-3 loss to the Battle Creek Bombers in the second game of a doubleheader at Riverfront Stadium in Waterloo. He fired 86 pitches, 54 for strikes.

Cottrell expects to get at least one more start for Waterloo, whose final game is scheduled for Aug. 16.
